DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 6

WITH the completion of first decade of its publication, the Tir Yimyim, a premier Ao Naga daily will observe its foundation day on October 8, 2013 at IMC hall, Dimapur.
Mr.Alemtemshi Jamir IAS, the Chief Secretary of Nagaland will grace the occasion as Chief Patron and Mr.Limawati Longchar as Moderator during panel discussion on the topic “ Ao Language as an Agent of Change.”In commemorating this decadal event, the Tir Yimyim shall award five eminent personalities in recognition of their invaluable contribution in preserving, development and promotion of Ao Language. The award includes a plaque and cash incentive of Rs.10,000/- each .
The recipients of the award are Prof.A.Lanunungsang Pro-Vice Chancellor, Tsüknung Penzü, former minister; N.Talitemjen Jamir, Retired Secretary, T.Senka Ao, former editor of Ao Milen and Rev.C.Walu Walling, former secretary of Literature and Education, ABAM.
Another commemorative event will be the release of two books of Anthology of Ao Naga and an Ao Orthography. The University degree text books in Ao will also be released on the occasion.
The other highlights of the program will be folk song and special numbers from the Dimapur Ao Youth Forum and the Samaro, a popular gospel band respectively.
