Thuwuni Music festival gets ready for the season

[caption id="attachment_283388" align="aligncenter" width="565"] Organisers of the ‘Thuwuni Music festival 2019’ seen here at the press conference, on November 19 in Dimapur.[/caption] Our Reporter Dimapur, Nov. 19 (EMN): The fifth edition of the ‘Thuwuni Music festival 2019’ organised by a music institution Musik-A, will start from November 27 and will be conducted till the 29th at Noune Resort in Dimapur. The festival aims to promote the economy of locals there besides offering livelihood opportunities to people from the rural areas. This was informed by the event’s organisers during a press conference that was conducted at Hope Cafe, on November 19 in Dimapur. Addressing media persons, Alobo Naga, one of the founding members of Thuwuni informed that the event used to be held at Pughoboto. This year, Thuwuni Music festival will be held at the Noune Resort in order to cater to a bigger audience and to make it more accessible to visitors and tourists. At the press conference, the local singer informed that Thuwuni Music festival is organised to give platform to upcoming Naga artistes and musicians and showcase their talents while sharing the stage with national and international artists. He said that the event also aims to provide an unforgettable experience in rural adventure and tourism. According to the organiser, the event is partnering with villages, giving opportunities to rural farmers and local entrepreneurs to open stalls for free. They can sell their local food and produce. The highlights of the festival will be a ‘silent disco,’ ‘eco-friendly party,’ a ‘dive in movie,’ food, and stalls for local entrepreneurs; and adventure and outdoor activities such as angling, boat rides, ATV- quad biking, outdoor camping and music. The first day of the event will have rock music performed by various rock artists such as Avora Records, Polar Lights, Chicken Head, Paper Sky, Teaspoon and Two Fingers band. Another line-up of artists for a subsequent programme will include MW Band, Symphony, Nito Sheqi, Annie’s Ok, AR Divine, Abdon Mech, Senti and Hopong, Kheky yep and Imliakum Aier, it was informed. On November 29, there will be an event ‘Pink Night’ themed on women empowerment. All the DJs for the event are women such as DJ Danika from Ukraine, DJ Rhin from Bangalore, and Dj Aloza from Nagaland, the organisers informed.
