Thuwu-Ni music festival starts with rock
The fifth edition of the Thuwu-Ni Music Festival (TWF) kicked off with excitement as local bands took an enthusiastic crowd to a night of thrill the first night of the event on Wed. Nov. 27 at the Noune Resorts in Dimapur.
The first day of the event dubbed the ‘Rock of Ages,’ saw performances by various bands such as winners of the Hornbill International Rock Contest for 2017 Avora Records from Mizoram. Other bands included Polar Lights, Chicken Head, Annie’s OK, Paper Sky, Teaspoon, and Two Fingers.
The second day of the event, ‘Songs of all ages,’ will see performance by MW Band, Symphony, Nito Sheqi, AR Divine, Abdon Mech, Senti and Hopong, and Kheky Yep.
The final day of the festival will be themed on women empowerment,’ and will deliver performances by female DJs. Dubbed the ‘Pink Night’, the final day will have performances from DJ Danika from Ukraine, DJ Rhon from Bangalore and DJ Aloza from Nagaland.
Besides the musical shows, the festival offers outdoor activities such as a chainsaw competition, disco, drive-in movie, a ‘boat safari,’ angling, outdoor camping, and quad biking among other activities.
