Thunderstorm damages 17 houses in Assam’s Karbi Anglong

DIPHU — Thunderstorm damaged 17 houses in Sarthe Timung village in Karbi Anglong district around 5 am on Monday morning.

Tin roofs of houses were blown away, while standing vegetation like betel nut trees, bananas and others were damaged. 

The houses that were damaged belonged to Samuel Rongphar, Bimor Rongpi, Babular Rongphar, Son Timung, Gosbel Kramsa, Dorsing Rongpi, Rowelson Timung, Diven Kramsa, Nuha Timung, Sem Timung, Lorence Kramsa, Emanuel Timung, Alwinson Timung, Paulson Taro and Khoysing Kramsa, it was informed.

The affected villagers have urged the local MAC Pabitra Rongpi to visit their village and provide immediate relief.
