DIMAPUR — A three-day pre-monsoon outreach tour was conducted in Thsotoku Circle, Shamator, under the "Governance to your doorstep" initiative, beginning on April 16.
The initiative was led by Extra Assistant Commissioner of Shamator Mekato J Aye, who also holds the additional charge of Thsotoku Circle, according to a DIPR report.
The programme was carried out in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare headed by District Coordinator Thsanthong, along with Aadhaar operators, officials from the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, and the Community Health Centre.
A mini marathon was held at Thsotoku for students from four schools, which saw the participation of over 150 students. The event featured four categories each for boys and girls.
Addressing the gathering, the EAC stated that the objective of the event was to encourage student enrolment in schools, motivate them to work hard and find purpose, develop an appreciation for their surroundings, and build the spirit of sportsmanship in the race of life.

The outreach also included awareness programmes and enrolment drives for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and self-help groups for women, conducted at church premises in collaboration with officials from the District Hub for Empowerment of Women.
Aadhaar enrolment and other essential documentation services were provided in camp mode to facilitate ease of access for the public.
During the tour, the team also visited other villages under the circle and interacted with students and community members.
The initiative aimed at strengthening last-mile service delivery while promoting awareness, inclusion, and community engagement across the region.
