MOKOKCHUNG — Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Spearhead Motorsport Initiative (SMI), the Throttle Thrust VI motor rally was flagged off at Mangmetong village in Mokokchung district on November 1.
The event was flagged off by Temsuchuba, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of Mokokchung, in a ceremony honouring a decade of SMI's dedication to fostering motorsport in the district.
Temsuchuba lauded SMI for its decade-long commitment to uniting drivers and sustaining the sport in the community.
On the event's opening day, participants competed in Stage I of the rally, navigating a 3-kilometre tarmac route. The competition drew 56 drivers from various regions, including Meghalaya, Dimapur, Kohima, and Mokokchung, who competed in three categories: open category, below 1300cc, and SUV category.
Throttle Thrust VI will continue with Stage II on a challenging dirt and gravel track, where cumulative timings from both stages will determine the winners.
