Three villages in Phek undertake road repairing works
DIMAPUR — Three villages namely Zhavame, Zelome and Tsupfume villages along with Razeba Adhoc Town Committee under Phek district undertook a road repairing works on September 2.
An update from the three villages stated that the residents have clear roadside overgrown foliage and level potholes covering 15.60 km stretch of PWD road from Pfutsero to Chilo.
The three village chairmen have expressed gratitude to the PWD department of Pfutsero division and minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, for understanding the genuine needs of the people under Razeba range and sponsoring the work.
The chairmen have also thanked ‘My Road My future’ for the donation, which has significantly contributed to the success of the road maintenance project. It also thanked Modovi Rhi, president of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), for his physical presence at the work and financial support, demonstrating his commitment to the cause and Vitoulu Domeh, PRO to the Power Minister and Parliamentary Affairs, for providing free one-day JCB service and mini dumper truck service, which greatly facilitated the completion of the work.

It mentioned that the PWD road from Pfutsero to Chilo is a vital interstate connection road between Manipur and Nagaland, linking Pfutsero to Chilo via Mahadev, Toloi, and Senapati via Tadubi. Moreover, it serves as the sole lifeline road for the Razeba range villages and Thetsumi village, providing crucial connectivity to the nearest town.
It also stated that the bad road conditions had largely impacted the economy activities of the range in terms of transporting agricultural products.
Meanwhile, it expressed hope that the commitment made by KG Kenye and the chief minister to construct the road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) would bring about a glimmer of hope to the range people after so many years.
