Three persons arrested with drugs and arms

Dimapur, March 5 (EMN): As part of the ongoing drive against narcotics in the entire state, the special operation team (SOT) of Zunheboto Police led by UBSI Kughavi conducted raids based on a specific input regarding the sale and distribution of psychotropic drugs and recovered 29331 capsules of Supwerdol worth approximately INR 5,86,000.

A DIPR report stated that narcotic drugs were seized from the possession of one person identified as Bokato Awomi, a resident of New Colony in Zunheboto town. It informed that a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused for further investigation.

In another incident, Mokokchung Police with assistance of Dimapur Police launched an operation and arrested two persons identified as Wapang Imchen and Meyiwapang Aier. Police recovered one 32 pistol along with seven live rounds from their possession.

The arrest was made basing on a complaint of miscreants demanding extortion and snatching away the keys of a JCB engaged in earth cutting work, which was registered at Changtongya Police Station.

Meanwhile, Nagaland Police has advised the public to be aware of easy online loan scams by scammers posing as representatives of reputed banks/ financial institutions offering loans at low interest rate.

Public are advised to verify the credentials of the loan providers before applying for such loan and to contact the nearest police station of information on such activities stating that genuine loan providers would never provide loans without verification and due procedures laid down by the RBI.
