Three former KAAC members to join Congress

DIPHU — In a major political development, three former executive members of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) namely Jagatsing Engti, Longki Timung and Prodip Diphusa will bid the farewell to BJP party and joined the grand old party-Congress.

The three leaders would formally join Congress on November 19 during a mass joining programme. This was informed by the president of Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC), Sum Ronghang, during a press conference on November 14 in Diphu.

KADCC leaders stated that when all political parties are gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections next year, the U-turn taken by the three leaders is expected to have a big impact on the election scenario of Karbi Anglong. The party is expecting more people to join Congress.
