Three-day Jan Ashirwad Yatra rolled out in Manipur’

Imphal, Aug.18 (EMN): Newly inducted Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Dr. RK Ranjan Singh formally rolled out the three-day Jan Ashirwad Yatra with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit president A Sharda Devi led party functionaries in Manipur’s Senapati district.

According to reports, Dr. RK Ranjan was also accorded a warm welcome at the autonomous district council conference hall in Senapati,60 km north of Imphal followed by a similar reception at Kangpokpi district headquarters,45 km north of Imphal on Tuesday. Earlier a similar programme was held at Mao Gate, near Traffic Point.

On Wednesday, Singh along with state BJP functionaries led by Sharda Devi drove down to Moreh, the commercial border town,110 km south of Imphal to continue the Jan Ashirwad Yatra.

On the occasion, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda had entrusted him to seek blessings from the unsung heroes in order to revive the spirit of the freedom movement in the region.

Lok Sabha MP Dr. RK Ranjan Singh was inducted as union minister of state during the expansion of the Union ministry on July 8.

It may be mentioned that the BJP is organising Jan Aashirwad Yatras for its newly inducted union ministers across the country. 38 ministers who joined the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new Cabinet in last month’s reshuffle are expected to hold massive rallies in their respective states, according to reports.

The yatra will include visits to places of religious significance, paying tributes at memorials and statues of national heroes, addressing the public, overseeing the distribution of food grains under the PM Anna Yojna and even visits to vaccination centres, the report added.
