Nagaland police arrests 3 persons with liquor

Following enforcement of Election Expenditure and Monitoring (EEM), Kohima Police personnel seized 140 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) during raid on Wednesday.

The raid was conducted at suspected areas in Kohima town. The raid led to seizure of 140 cases of assorted IMFL. In this connection, two persons were arrested for violation of NLTP Act 89 and booked under Section 44(e) of NLTP Act 1989.

In a related incident, Dimapur Excise duty personnel manning the New Field inter-state check gate intercepted a truck bearing registration no. NL-08D 9584 and seized 1165 cases of assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) on Wednesday. An update from the Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition, Tokuho Assumi, stated that the contraband was recovered concealed under bags of household kitchen salts. In this connection one person identified as L Gobin Singh (34) and resident of Mantripukri in Imphal East was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989.
