Dimapur, Sep. 14 (EMN): Three persons were arrested with fake Indian currency notes (FICN) on the evening of September 13 at Blue Hill bus station in Dimapur. Dimapur police issued a press release on Friday informing that further investigation was on after a case was registered against the “individuals” – unnamed in the police statement – at East PS. The fake notes, it stated, were ‘reportedly smuggled from Lakhimpur district in Assam.’ The three persons were caught by the police while alighting a bus at said station. “There are many unreported incident of such cases. Dimapur Police therefore warns the citizens to be wary of such calls and not fall prey to the fraudsters. Engaging in FICN in any form (whether making, selling, buying, receiving, using, possessing) is a serious offence under Indian Penal Code (IPC) and attracts severe punishment even to the extent of imprisonment for life,” it warned.
