Imphal, July 29 (EMN): Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh on Monday inaugurated a Ayush hospital in Manipur's Thoubal district.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, the minister said that health sector is considered to be one of the most important segments of human being.
In order to fulfill the wish of the people, Health department not initiates better health services but also has introduced wellness programmes and centres in the state, he said.
Primary health sub-centres have also been replaced by the health and wellness centres to fulfil the new objective of the department, he added.
Elucidation the importance and benefits of Ayush, he said it is no longer a new concept of advanced medical application and there are lot of prospects in opting Ayush treatment as it has become cost effective and easily affordable.
“Both ayurvedic and allopathic forms are equally preferable these days according to the suitability of the prevailing condition,” he added.
He also said that the subject of Ayush has been incorporated in the curriculum of the MBBS students.
He maintained that the newly opened 10 bedded hospital will benefit the people of Thoubal and also help to ease the problem of scarcity of Ayush centres in the region.
Urging the public to cooperate with the initiatives of the government especially in the health sector, he said that the government is always ready to accept suggestions from the public with regard to boosting the health sector in the state.
