Thongtso incident: Deputy CM appeals for peace, assures befitting punishment to culprits
Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, who also holds the charge of Home department, has appealed for peace ‘as law will take its own course to punish the culprits’ involved in the incident at Thongtso village in Noklak district where one person was killed on November 18.
In a statement issued on Friday, Patton expressed serious concern over the incident and assured that the state government would award befitting punishment to those found guilty ‘in this diabolical and inhuman act’.
He further appealed to the people and tribal leaders of eastern Nagaland to continue extending co-operation and support to the government.
Patton stated that after examination of reports, the state government would extend all possible help and assistance to those affected by the incident.
The deputy chief minister reminded that adequate police personnel have been deployed to the sensitive area and a special investigation team, led by a senior SP, has been formed to probe the incident.
