There is Power in Jesus’ Name to Save us in Uncertain Days

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Prov 18:10 KJV.

To protect ourselves from the Sun’s heat, we need to run to the shade. In the days of rains, we need to run into a house that has a roof. In times of windstorms, we need to run into a strong structure that can withstand the blowing windstorms that bite. In times of sickness, we need physicians for a cure. In times of hunger and thirst, we need bread and water. But all of these have their own limits. They cannot go beyond their limitations. When terrible trying days come, we need someone else who can save us. Truly, one terrible time – PANDAMIC COVID 19 - has come into our world today. It has taken many lives away. It has left many homes devastated. Everywhere, hundreds of thousands are desperately struggling for their lives. Scientists, Doctors and many more are working on it day and night. This corona virus has no respect for any one. It will get anyone that comes on its way. It is roaming like a hungry roaring lion. It has left many wounded badly. It has gone out quickly towards all directions. It is perhaps approaching towards you too. Who can stop this beast- the COVID-19?

These days are uncertain days for many. The world is living in fear of COVID-19 and most part of the world is locked down for fear of it. Because, this dreaded ghost will not spare anyone whom it comes across. What shall we do before or after this unwelcome guest comes to our homes? Is there any means or power that can safeguard us from destruction? The answer is a big “YES” - the name of JESUS CHRIST. In his name, believe, pray and follow the rules.

According to the New Testament, God sent His Son on earth to love, heal and save us from the power of sin, sickness and death. His name was JESUS, the CHRIST. This man, Jesus of Nazareth, was God Himself (Jhn 1:1ff). God finally makes an absolute resolution to provide salvation to all those who believe in the name of JESUS CHRIST (cf. Acts 4: 12).

At the hearing of this name, “JESUS,” Satan fled, the sick were healed, the blinds recovered their sight, the dead were raised to life, the captives were set free, the lost were found, and the broken hearted, the hopeless, the hapless, the mad etc. were restored to normal condition. What a powerful name is this – “JESUS!”

The name of JESUS is indeed the greatest of all names. The Bible says that – “at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil 2:10-11 RSV). What a wonderful name it is – “JESUS!”

In time like this, when the world is gone in anguish, let us run into the name of Jesus. This name is the strong tower for our safety. It is for sure that there is power to save in the name of JESUS alone. Therefore, let us call and hold on to His name for our salvation. As we run in and take shelter in His name, we will be saved. It is wise to lockdown our life and country for fear of Covid-19. But it is wise to open our life and our country for fear of JESUS. For He alone is the ultimate Saviour. Let Him come in to save.
