Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): A book titled ‘The Yellow Sunset’ written by Tiala Sangtam Neihu was officially released by Zakiebeituo Metha, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, Kohima, at Hotel Ura on October 6.

Speaking on the occasion, Metha lauded the hard work, dedication and efforts of the author in bringing out a book in spite of having a career alongside bringing up three sons while a lot of working mothers tend to give up their dreams.

Describing the newly released book as a ‘fine poetry book’ with lots of emotions, ideas and thoughts about life, he expressed belief that readers would clearly understand because the book has been written with much positivity and clarity. He also hoped that it would serve as an inspiration for working mothers to pursue their dreams and be a blessing to all those who read it.

Also speaking on the occasion, Neihu recalled that she was very fond of writing as a little girl and wrote every time she was happy, angry or sad.

“But being married at a young age, the responsibilities were overwhelming and this love and passion for writing vanished into thin air,” she said.

Referring to a friend, who believed in her and rekindled that fire in her to write, she dedicated her debut book to that friend.

“This is a gentle reminder to all the working mothers out there, who are like me that dreams do come true,” she said, adding that, “I just hope, and it is my only prayer that if a poem from this book or a fraction of it, have touched or inspired you, or you feel that you can relate to it, then I would like to believe that it has served the purpose”.

She also read out a poem titled, “The Power of Prayer” from the book.

In her publisher’s note, Vishü Rita Krocha noted that almost 50% of the books published by PenThrill Publication House are poetry books, while stating that the importance of poetry cannot be emphasised enough. According to her, both writing and reading poetry help to understand and appreciate the world and “also spark inspiration for important discussions as much as it can open a reader’s mind to appreciate better the simple ordinary things in life”.

‘The Yellow Sunset,’ she said, comprised of poems which are mostly bright and hopeful; things that the poet is grateful for and also speaks of her concern for the society, and hoped that she would continue to write and enthral readers with her beautiful thoughts.

It may be mentioned that Neihu is a working mother of three boys. Born and raised in Tuensang, she now lives in Chandmari, Kohima, with her family. She loves singing, writing and baking and is passionate about her dreams.

Highlights of the book launch included prayer by Temsuinla, associate women pastor of SBLK, while the programme was chaired by Thsidilong Rüdy, assistant professor of Baptist College, Kohima.
