[dropcap]T[/dropcap]o the arrogant I say,’ Boast no more, and to the wicked, ’do not lift up your horns. Do not lift up your hands against heaven; do not speak with outstretched neck. No one from the east or west can exalt a man. But it is God who judges it. Brings one down, He exalts another. Psalms 75:4-7.
Every authority under heaven are given by God and the failure to either accept or admit it will result in greater judgment against the abusers of it. The Prime ministers and Presidents are in their seats of authority because God placed them there and it is for them to acknowledge Christ though the anti-christ will not. The governments which are or will be in power has millions of reasons to either confess their sins or submit to the Word. Be it Local, National, or International, the government is the government and like it or hate it, the government will surely rise against Christ in the future. The secret powers of lawlessness are already at work and it shall emerge not till God allows it to. In regard to the man of sin, the Holy Scripture states “He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshipped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. (2 Thessalonians 2:4) Further in connection to this, the Prophets accounts “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt himself and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place. He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all (Daniel 11:36-37). This speaks of the end times and we urge every leader who are of the truth to become more Christ like rather than being like Jezebel. A news report on the death of Michael Sata, the former late president of Zambia read “Zambian President Michael Sata, who died aged 77, rose from cleaning railway platforms in London to his country’s highest office where he vowed to sweep away corruption but leaned heavily on political foes. Sata died in the British capital where he had been receiving treatment for a long rumored but undisclosed illness. For supporters who voted him to power he was a no-nonsense man of action. For critics, the former policeman, trade unionist and taxidermist were an authoritarian populist. What is undisputed is that he seemed to revel in scorched earth politics. Detractors, political foes, the media and even allies frequently come under attacks from a man who earned the sobriquet ‘king cobra.’ He once publicly upbraided his whole cabinet, threatening to collapse his own government if they did not do a better job. (Lusaka, Oct 29) (Agencies).
We see how the life of the man once feared by millions came to a terrible end. It was no different with either Hitler or Stalin and the likes of Gadaffi and Osama were similar in nature with both of them meeting their end in terror. Pushing this a little closer, there will be more terror for them if they are to be cast into the lake of fire. The truth is, whoever sins like them will die like them and whoever rules like them will perish like them. The truth is, hell is not far from earth, it is just below the earth. Everyone has to come to the understanding that defying God’s warning is defying God himself. It will certainly be wiser for all of God’s people to submit to the authority of the truth. Adding to this, hell is not experienced till it is and if there is no fear of God in the sinner’s eyes, the certainty is that their end will be what their actions deserve. Thus the Word states “Therefore the grave enlarges its appetite and opens its mouth without limit; into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their brawlers and revelers. So man will be brought low and mankind humbled, the eyes of the arrogant humbled. (Isaiah: 14-15). Sinners have to fear this and it is God’s wrath that they must fear if they are still in sin. The truth is, it is always more desirable to be exalted than to be humbled. The choice to either submit or resist God’s authority is the sinner’s choice. If God’s word is for us, we must submit to God’s will. Our submission is to the authority of the Highest Order. God’s word is the supreme authority.
