O my God, I am too ashamed and disgraced to lift up my face to you, my God, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens. Ezra 9:6
Every past event reminds us of all that happened in the past and the situation of the present clearly depicts the evils committed in our land by our own people. Some will say that the situation is bad because it is bad, while the wiser ones will say it is so because of the time at hand. The increase in wickedness certainly causes raised eyebrows in many families and also causes us to think of what we think. So who are to be blamed for the sins committed in our families, churches and nations? The scripture points out to our hearts. It is what comes out of us which makes us unclean. As it is written “ For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils comes from inside and make him ‘unclean’ ( Mark 7:21-23 ). The in scripted truth clearly depicts so many of our sins and it will be wiser for us to be wiser still lest we be condemned for being fools. When God says “do not sin”, we must be committed to God’s command. I trust some of you must be thinking “Somehow I will not sin” but I will advice you to cut off the first word in order to make the second stronger. Somewhere in the scripture God speaks of gouging out our eyes and cutting off our hands and it is in the truth I declare that God wants us to renounce our every sin lest we be condemned because of our sins. If certain sins and words in you are causing you to sin it will be better for you to purge it out lest your whole body go into hell because of it (Matthew 5:27-30) (Deuteronomy 25:11). As far as the sins of the world are concerned it is endless and its wickedness are great. (Job 22:5) The waves of sins are endless and the sinners who are plunged into the ocean will drown with no one to rescue.
This is what we speak and write in the truth: As it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah people were drinking, dancing and were committed to every evil under the sun. There was no shame, no repentance in their hearts. The sins of these people kept rising higher and higher till they were devoured by burning coals and sulphur from above. The tragedy of it was three fold- The first was the destruction of the cities, the second the destruction of Lot’s wife, while the third was the destruction of himself and his two daughters because of their acts of incest. The first two instances of destruction was because of disobedience; while the third was because of his lukewarm and last minute obedience. (Genesis 18:1-38 ) This teaching teaches us of what sins and disobedience leads to and it will be wiser still to do what holiness demands of us. Most of us had been most unholy in the past but the holiness of Christ can demolish every secret sins of the past, creating for us a new future with holiness as our Lover and Husband. In our affair with God it is so important for us to hate sin completely and love God completely. And the revelation of this is that the sinner who lives in sin and dies without the truth in them will be crushed and destroyed on the last day but for us who lives in God’s love and power will be secured, protected and empowered in the truth. Since we are in the last days the waves of temptation will be stronger than before but it is for us to stand strong in the truth, destroying every sin as we rise higher and higher in holiness. To overcome sin the Word states “ Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’, ‘No’, anything beyond this comes from the evil one ( Matthew 5:31 ). This means that we are never to compromise with any sin and neither are we to treat holiness with contempt. It was because of our sins that we sinned too much and it is because of God’s love that we can love so much. Let the past be the past and the future the future.
The power that made us is the authority which can either save or condemn us in the end. Rather than our sins reaching to the heavens, our love for God must rise higher in the truth. God has called us to be His that we may be perfected in His holiness. With the Holy Spirit as our only security it is so important for us to invest so much in holiness that we may gain so much in the next life. And it is only when we rise higher in holiness, we begin to detest the sins of the world. Since the world was predestined to be condemned, it will be wiser still not to be yoked together with the sins of the world. This is what I speak and write in the truth that life is all about choices and decisions. It is either we choose to be holy or we choose to be unholy; Its either we choose to do evil or we choose to do good. If I am to ask you this: Will you prefer to be shouldered by a person who is not your husband or will you prefer to be shouldered by a person who is your husband. The other question is: Will you prefer to be shouldered by Satan and the world or by God. Since we are what the Church is and since we represent His wife it is so important for us to be in step with His passion and desires. Just as a woman goes to her husband when she marries, we will also be united with Christ when we marry God. And it is only through holiness that we can see God and it is only through Christ that we can be where God is. This has to be embraced and we trust the Word of God to speak to your heart even right now. And as the church writes this for the cause of what we are committed to, we expect the powers of what we love to capture the hearts of all the ones who are truly committed to the cause of Christ. We have sinned, the world has sinned but God calls us and the world to repentance. The choice to either marry holiness or perish with un-holiness is up to us. This is also a wave of the last days and we trust the holy churches to riser more in holiness still . We love God, the sinners and holiness is our mission.
