The White Owl signs MoU with Plaksha University

The White Owl and the Centre for Thinking, Language, and Communication, Plaksha University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 16, to work together in the broad areas of academic work, writing, communication, research, language skills, and publishing.

The White Owland Plaksha University also agreed to get into other cooperative arrangements that advance scholarship and further enhance the educational missions of both the Institutions, an update stated.

The White Owl, which launched on October 15, 2022, at 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, is a hub for study, research, and learning. Designed to be a sanctuary in the middle of the commercial city of Nagaland, the hub is an intimate space for sharing knowledge, creating ideas, and making meaningful connections. The lounge houses two libraries (a research library and a children’s library), a bookshop, a meeting room, and a café.

The journey of Plaksha University began in 2015 with the vision to reimagine the landscape of technological education in India and the world. It was founded by over 60 business leaders, technology entrepreneurs, and academicians from across the globe, who earnestly carry forward the Plaksha mission. The University campus is located in Mohali, Punjab, and the degrees offered by Plaksha are BTech, PhD, and the technology leaders programme.

“This MoU is an exciting development for us and we are looking forward to exploring a variety of activities with India’s newest Tech University. Plaksha University is reimagining the future of education in the country and we are thrilled to be a part of this mission,” said Viketuno Rio, director, of The White Owl.

Director of the CTLC, Plaksha University, Dr. Brainerd Prince, said, ‘With its transdisciplinary focus, Plaksha is keen on integrating technological studies with literary and communication skills so that our engineering graduates get a holistic education. The White Owl with its focus on thinking, literature, and research seems a perfect fit for collaboration.”

Activities to be undertaken include:
  • Collaborative research projects, joint conferences, workshops, symposia, seminars, and training programs.
  • Joint development of ongoing and new curricula and academic projects.
  • Mobility and exchange of researchers, faculty, scholars, and students between Institutions.
  • Faculty/staff professional development.
  • Collaboration in literary and academic publications and other materials of mutual interest.
  • Initiatives that further co-enhance the educational missions of and relationship between the Institutions.
