The Silence of the Committed

In a Land where truth is silenced, And lies and dishonesty reign supreme; In societies where tax is licensed, For motherland whose future's but grim. Across the streets painted corrupt-red, Where lurks shadowy evil with its ugly head; In the high echelon of government offices, Where responsible men breed dark practices. Amongst organisations harping for a change, Lo! The Committed falling out o' wisdom's range, Choosing to breathe silently in the corrupt air. Woe betide our ways that're no more true or fair! O God, from this land shorn of virtues o' old, Awaken leaders and youth, honest and bold, That'd lead us wit' wisdom & dedication, And make our society free o' corruption.
