The Pathetic Condition of Dimapur-Niuland Road
The condition of the road from Central Jail to Niuland District headquarter has been neglected for the last many years as if there is no habitation or villages. It is a matter of wonder as to how the public are tolerating such condition. The journey otherwise used to be only about 40 minutes is now taking one and half hour. This is just unacceptable. Through reliable source, it is learnt that fund amounting to Rs. 25 crore was sanctioned and drawn during March 2022 against the road under Scheme for Special Assistance to States. However, till date work is yet to begin. If the work was carried out during the fund sanction, it would have been completed by now. If the road has to improve, the public and leaders must pursue to ensure that the work is carried out judiciously as per technical specification.
