The Naga Rising pays tribute to Sademmeren

Dimapur, Aug. 20 (EMN): The Naga Rising (TNR) has expressed sadness at the passing away of Guru I Sademmeren Longkumer on August 17 at 93 at Faith Hospital, Dimapur.

Longkumer hails from Ungma village in Mokokchung district.
In a tribute to Longkumer, TNR lamented that his passing away at this crucial juncture of history when the Nagas needed wisdom and knowledge of elders like him more than ever before was a big loss for the Ao community and the entire Nagas.

“A true guardian of our indigenous knowledge and endowed with God given wisdom, his pioneering work and contribution towards safeguarding our historical traditions and cultural identity has laid the foundation for future generations to build on and take it forward,” the statement read.
As a cultural icon and a legend of his times, it stated that the legacy he left behind would continue to teach, guide, and inspire the Nagas to celebrate and preserve its rich tradition and culture.

TNR further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family, the citizens of Ungma village and the Ao community in their hour of pain and loss.
