Watch your life and doctrine closely. Preserve in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 Timothy 4:16

In this age of godlessness, every believer should be well equipped to confront the forces of evil which threatens the salvation of many. Many self proclaimed ‘man of God’ speaks in angelic voices whose doctrine differs from the true gospel. Satan’s main objective is to create confusion and disunity among the believers. The crisis is presently prevalent in the Church of Christ. In addition to these problems many sects and cults are making their presence felt through out the world through books, movies and through various means of deception. It is clearly written in the Bible that false prophets shall arise, if possible deceiving even the elect.

The scripture states “But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them- bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed, those teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. 2nd Peter 2:1-3The fulfillment of the written prophetic words is now on the verge of completion. Those sons and daughters of Satan will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. They preach in a sweet voice but the motive of their sermon is to promote their own set of doctrines and beliefs.

In order to protect ourselves and our churches from the waves of false doctrines and beliefs, it is important that we equip ourselves with the knowledge of the truth. If our lives are deep rooted in Christ, the deceitfulness of the world will not lead us astray.

The leaders of our churches, the preachers and all the faithful ones of God should always be careful lest the evil one takes advantage of them. Our life should be akin to that of Christ. The Word says “Watch your life and doctrine closely. Perserve in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 Timothy 4:16 The sacred words which we teach people should be done prayerfully. As our desire is to love God with all of our life, we should also meditate on His Word at all times. Our spiritual leaders has a huge task at hand to protect themselves and all the followers of Christ by safeguarding all that is being revealed to them. God forbid that any of my readers should be duped by the enemy. It is essentially important that we study His Word at all times, pray at all times and seek Him at all times. Sometimes in our quest to know the truth, we can also go scripturally wrong if we are not guided by the Holy Spirit. In view of this it is important that we first be taught before we venture out to teach others.

Often, we are quick to appreciate without actually knowing the meaning of what is been said or written. We may even destroy our own lives by believing in something that is not scriptural. It is not my desire that you be skeptical of everything. Rather it is my intention that you be equip better with the Word of truth. The moment we stop meditating on His Word, we will be more vulnerable to the arrows of deception which the devil uses against us. Keep the Word in your heart and pray at all times. Let the blood of Christ cover you and your loved ones. Your prayers are important as the purpose of your existence. Hold firm to what is now yours. The Church of Christ needs you to increase its members. Join us as we fight against our common enemy. We are assured of victory through Christ. And we shall be victorious through Christ. The power is on us.
