- DIMAPUR — The
Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) was awarded 12th Earth Care Award 2025 under the
community-based climate action category in recognition of its work for
community driven positive climate action.
- Considered one of the highest honours in the country for
recognising climate champions instituted by Times of India Group and JSW
Foundation, the award was handed over to the CEO of Entrepreneurs Associates,
Neichute Doulo, at a splendid event in Mumbai’s Tata Theatre by Sangita Jindal,
chairperson of the JSW Foundation, and Sivakumar Sundaram, CEO (publishing) of
the Times Group.
- Selected from 1554 applicants after rigorous rounds of
interviews and due diligence conducted over a period of 5 months, the award
recognized tEA’s ‘Trees for Wealth’ movement as an innovative and path-breaking
movement for addressing the global climate crisis, stated an update from tEA.

- Receiving the honour, Doulo stressed the importance of
collective efforts to combat climate crisis. Reiterating the slogan of ‘Trees
for Wealth’ movement ‘Micro by one and Volume by mass,’ Doulo encouraged every
individual to consider climate action, a personal responsibility and a duty
towards the planet.

- While thanking the noble initiative of the Times of India
Group and JSW, tEA’s founding CEO stated that ‘more of these efforts from
people who are in a position to contribute and impact works towards restoring
our climate is the need of the hour.’
- It mentioned that ‘Trees for Wealth’ is an audacious
movement to plant 3 billion trees, 1 billion fruit trees and 2 billion non
fruit trees by 2050 in India’s North East Region (NER) and Myanmar. Till date
‘Trees for Wealth’ movement has planted over 30 lakh trees, 7 lakh fruit trees
and 23 lakh non-fruit trees across Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh by
working with over 6000+ farmers.
- tEA has engaged communities, institutions and individuals to
take up tree plantations in abandoned farmlands, community land, homesteads and
kitchen backyards for reducing the impacts of climate change. Under the
movement, community plantations have been facilitated in village lands where
oak and other local tree species have been planted.
- tEA is also developing model farm in Peren district, where
experimental trees and cash crops are being planted to demonstrate the powers
of agro-forestry in a region. Leveraging the NE region as the 6th biodiversity
hotspot in the world, ‘Trees for Wealth’ movement aims to make the region the
‘fruit hub’ and the ‘oxygen bank’ for the rest of the country and the world at
large.
- Earth Care Awards was instituted to recognise the work of
individuals, organisations and communities in combating climate change from
reducing their carbon footprints to developing innovative technologies and
initiatives. It intends to showcase impactful, practical, scalable and
replicable cutting-edge solutions for the planet that can respond to the
challenges posed by climate change.
- The award recognises works in various categories such as
emerging business in climate action, women leaders in climate action and urban
centre climate and even introduced the ‘Young Climate Changemakers Award’ this
year.
