[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he way we are convicted to hate all that is sinful is the power of the spirit working through us. No man or woman is convicted unless he or she is stirred by the spirit. To be at war against the enemy is what stirs the passionate man and woman. We are often driven to go against the evil forces because of the passionate impulses in us. As far as the minds of humans are concerned the desire to avenge our transgressors often stirs us from within. Our minds are never at ease unless harm is done to the enemy in a befitting way.When someone punches us the desire to punch them back often gets the better of us. The desire to hit them back often compels us to do things which could be disastrous. When a country is bombed measures are taken to strike back.
In the 2nd world war when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, the Americans retaliated by dropping atom bombs in two of their major cities. The patriotic spirit in them made them do what they did. It’s not only about them any country or nation will react in the same way. When the sovereignty of a country is at stake securities are usually geared up.
The world we live in is controlled by the things and ideologies of the world. We do what the world does because we desire what the world offers. The very thing that obstructs the believers from moving forward in Christ is sin. Sin is a virus which creeps up in us when we give in to temptations. Temptation is also a spirit which comes and goes. Temptation was not what caused the downfall of man. It was the action of man that made them a victim of temptation. The very thing that causes us to sin are the worldly desires in us. We often blame Satan for all the wrongs committed. There is no doubt that Satan is the root cause of all the sins but we are also to be blamed for our desires causes us to sin. Considering the harm Satan has done to us it is natural for us to be vengeful. Only those who had been through spiritual warfare knows what its like to be at war against the enemy.
In the course of my spiritual battle Satan was the one I was up against. The more I hated him the better I felt and the more I prayed the stronger I became. No one will know how much I despised him excepting God. What made me radical was the very thought of the enemy making a ridicule of me. To be on the front lines was what I wanted to be but things didn’t turn out as I anticipated. I became weaker and I began to falter. These very drawbacks left me confused and guilt stricken. I began to grieve over my sins. I began to cry over my failures. The very thought that I was harming the one I was fighting for made me guilty.
The more I cried the more I became convinced that I was forgiven. But the very sins which I confessed came back haunting me. I kept falling victim to it over and over again. As I kept pondering over my failures God spoke to me through His words that I was the cause of it all. That was when I realized that I had been forgetting to fight the enemy within. To be spiritually secured I had to be vigilant. To be spiritually matured I had to have a hunger for righteousness. In my battle against Satan I had been forgetting to confront the demons within me. To be victorious against the external forces the internal conflicts has to be settled first. What is to be made known is that there is an enemy within us desperate to betray us. Lest we have mastery over it we will be betrayed into the hands of the common enemy. A war is not won unless the soldiers are disciplined. When you are disciplined you will be more efficient in your works. One important spiritual discipline that has to be followed is to fight the enemy within. The best way to overcome temptations is to have mastery over our thoughts. Confront the demons within and you shall be victorious in all that you do. Fight the enemy within and be equipped better to confront our common enemy. The war is on join the fight. This is what we are and this is the situation we are in. but we are assured of victory when we confront the enemy within and live by the spirit.
