‘The Electric Cool Kid’ to release new EP ‘THIS IS NOT POP!’ on Dec. 20

DIMAPUR — The Electric Cool Kid is set to release their much-anticipated EP, ‘THIS IS NOT POP!’ across all major streaming platforms on December 20.

An update issued on Friday informed that the EP follows the success of the band’s widely acclaimed single “Walking Through the Fire,” that won ‘Best Rock Song of the Year’ at the recently concluded Music Awards of Nagaland 2025, marking a major milestone in the band’s journey.

THIS IS NOT POP! is said to be a tribute to the music that shaped The Electric Cool Kid’s identity, loud rock bands, expressive guitar solos, and anthemic choruses.

With this release, the band would make a deliberate return to their core influences, embracing raw energy, authenticity and uncompromising songwriting.

‘As part of the EP rollout, The Electric Cool Kid will also premiere the official music video for “Mafia,” one of the standout tracks from the EP, on December 23,’ the update informed.
