Dimapur, Nov. 18 (EMN): Tetso College organised its annual ‘Autumn Fest’ on November 16 at the college campus in Sovima, Dimapur, which saw an array of literary activities, games, and competitions.
Presenting the welcome note in the inaugural programme, Dr. S Elika Assumi, Dean of School of Social Sciences and PG Studies, Tetso College, shared that the season of autumn represents a season of festivity and the onset of good tidings to come. She also added that, for the Nagas, the season is a time for harvest and for family and friends to bond, while for the students it is a day of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.
The separtment of Sociology also launched the first edition of its e-book ‘Genos’ (ISBN: 978-81-929456-6-8) on the theme ‘Re-imagining gender roles and women’s spaces in the Northeast India’ which was released by the college principal Dr. PS Lorin.
Events such as competition in group song, traditional show, oratory, extempore speech, debate, mobile legends, and talent hunt dubbed as ‘Tetso’s Got Talent’ kept both students and teachers entertained throughout the day.
In the closing ceremony, Nyunbenlo Tep, coordinator of student council, thanked the college for organising the event and also the sponsors Brainwonders and Royal Enfield for their contribution towards the success of the event. The results were announced by Onentila Longkumer, advisor of student council, while the prizes were given away by Anjan Behera, Assistant Dean.
