Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): Tesen Students’ Union (TSU) under Tening sub-division has extended fullest support and cooperation towards the campaign launched by student and youth bodies for good road connectivity.

TSU president, Dikugong Esalung, and the general secretary, Haigangbeu Hengame, stated that the lives of the rural populace was made miserable socially and economically owing to bad road conditions, which was left abandoned for more than three decades.

Meanwhile, the union called upon the government not to keep on hold the sanctioned amount for the said new road from Peren – Tening but authorise and order the concerned contractors and stakeholders to execute the work in the earliest as possible. It reminded that the ultimatum served by the student and youth bodies of the area was not just for publicity but that the people of the area have become impatient with each passing year.

TSU further called upon the students and youths of every village to be an agent for bringing about changes and development in the area and extend their continuous support to ensure the complete blacktopping of roads. The union also urged the units to monitor to ensure quality workmanship in their respective village area.
