DIMAPUR — After being terminated from the post of the GB of Phor village, Phek, for dismantling the NST ticket booking counter at the village, T Nyupuli has cited that the demolishing of the said structure was solely the responsibility of his son Krutatu.

In a letter to DC Phek, he also stated that it was done with the knowledge of the village council chairman (VCC).

He said that he was not informed of the dismantling and had no idea; rather, his son had a phone conversation with the VCC and collected the key from his residence along with one village guard sepoy, who was on routine duty on the day.

He revealed that, as per an agreement made with the landowner and the council on January 16, 2006, he was assured of first privilege for the grade-IV post, which has not been taken up to date.

Citing that there were appeals made time and again to the village council to dismantle the structure and allot the site for residential purposes, he said that there was no response from the council for more than a year.

“There is no official acquisition of the same plot of land by the Department of Nagaland State Transport nor any privilege for Grade-IV appointment was made to us in the Department as per the agreement,” he alleged.

He mentioned that he repeatedly appealed to reconsider the case and tendered an apology letter for his son’s wrongdoings in consultation with the VCC Phor. However, he said, there was no explanation call or meeting conducted, and the termination letter was issued.

He claimed that, according to the resolution adopted on March 27, 2023, he was asked to resign from the post for the damage to public property caused by his son and called the village authority’s statement to forfeit his leadership in the future ‘self-style’ and that no such resolution was adopted on that day.

He requested that the DC look into the matter and re-examine the case in order to resolve the issue amicably.
