Tenyimi Union Dimapur mourns demise of former Mao Council president

DIMAPUR — The Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) has mourned the demise of Dr. Saheni Loli, former president of the Mao Council.

The TUD stated in a condolence note that his contributions to the Tenyimi family in particular and the Nagas in general will always be remembered and cherished.

“A true son of the soil, his yeoman services towards education and social justice not only for the Mao community but also for the entire Nagas will be a void hard to fill,” read the note, while mentioning that in his passing, Nagas have lost a patriotic leader and hoped that the younger generations would emulate his qualities.

The union also conveyed its condolences to his friends and family and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
