Dimapur, Nov. 14 (EMN): A constituency unit of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) in Peren district has appealed to the government authorities to post extra additional commissioners (EAC) to three areas in the district namely Tening, Nsong, and Athibung. A press release appended by Namkiak, president of the 6th Tening assembly constituency’s NPF unit on Wednesday expressed concern with regard to the transfer of the ‘Tening EAC, Nsong EAC and Athibung EAC’ as stated in a notification dated Oct. 26 2018. The press release read: ‘The citizens of the above mentioned administrative circles are undergoing severe hardships due to the non deputation of the concern officers as per the administrative set up. The citizens under Tening administrative circle are grateful for deputing ADC Shri. Hito Sema, NCS, vide the above mentioned notification, dated 26th Oct, 2018, after much anticipation and for which we are grateful.’ However, the ‘good news came with the bad news.’ It was learned that the EAC for Tening and of Nsong were transferred ‘without deputing any EAC’ in place of the transferred officers. ‘So in this regard, we look forward to the clarification from your esteem competent authority as to why the officers were transferred without any deputation? And who will perform the duties of ADC in his absence? What about the Nsong area people? For, they will be compelled to go up to Tening for single signature and official works.’ Also, the EAC of Athibung was transferred to Jalukie as EAC for Jalukie with the dual charge of Athibung EAC, the note explained. In the words of the citizen: ‘In such a wee hour, when people of the area required the service of those officers, we felt we are being manipulated and neglected. And so, we seek the competent authority to come up with clarification, which we anticipate.’ The statement appealed to the authorities to “restore faith by posting EAC for Tening, Nsong and Athibung. So that, the toil and hardship of the people are lessen. And also, it will pave a way for effective and efficient administration, imbuing our faith in the talk about good governance.” The unit stated to look forward to a positive response from the authorities.
