Ten-day skill development training programme concludes in Karbi Anglong
DIPHU — A ten day skill development training on hair cutting and traditional jewellery making, organised by Additional director of Industries & Commerce (DI&CC), Karbi Anglong, was concluded on Oct. 14.
On the concluding day held at the office of DI&CC, the Executive Member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Industries & Commerce and Soil Conservation, Prabhat Chandra Taro distributed kits to the trainees.
The training programme had local participants from both Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong where male trainees were trained on hair cutting while females were trained on traditional jewellery making.
Encouraging local youths to start their own entrepreneurship, the EM said that one can make use of the online platform to sell their jewelries while citing that there is enough raw materials in Karbi Anglong but people don’t know how to process them. He also explained that hair cutting profession is profitable while cautioning that people from outside come here to earn money only by cutting hair.
He asked the trainees to start their own entrepreneur with the kits provided.
For hair cutting kits like comb, towel, aprons, revolving chair, hair trimmer, shaving cream and brush were provided. While needles, different types of beads and thread were provided to the female trainees.
