The Finance Department organized a warm reception for Temjen Toy, IAS, who has taken over as Finance Commissioner, Government of Nagaland. On assuming office, a short meeting was held with the senior officials of Finance Department today at the Conference Hall of Finance Department.
Speaking at the meeting, Toy requested the support and cooperation of all the officers and staff to enable him to carry out the task of spearheading the Finance Department.
Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS, Secretary Finance, on behalf of the officers of the Finance Department, welcomed the new Finance Commissioner and assured him that all officers and staff will render full support and cooperation as was done in the past.
While mentioning that the current financial year would be a challenging one as it is the ending of the 13th Finance Commission period, the new Finance Commissioner expressed hope that the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission would be better than the 13th Finance Commission.
He further voiced the need for the state government to make all efforts for better management of the State’s finances.
