STATING that the Telangsao Hydro Project in Mon district, the only source of power supply for entire Tobu area, was damaged by landslides in several places in first week of August, the Tobu Town Students’ Union has appealed to the Power department to initiate steps to restore power supply in Tobu sub-division either by connecting the area to alternative source or by repairing the project at the earliest.President of the union H Khamba, in a release today, lamented that it has been almost two months since the damage occurred but the authorities concerned have not initiated any step to repair the damage, leaving it as an abandon project. Besides, there is not even a single staff to take care or look after the multi-crore project, the union said adding the people of the area, therefore, have lost hope of getting power soon.
