CONCERNED about the air-pollution with increase in number of vehicles, as well as to spread the message of staying healthy, 14 young cyclists have decided to ride bi-cycles from Kohima to Dimapur on Saturday.
Interacting with media-persons, founder of Alacritas Cycle Club Kohima Obed Newmai along with members Kibeto I. Awomi and PD Blaise said they would be taking the bi-cycle ride under the theme “Let us start peddling”.The flag-off will be done from TCP Gate Kohima and they would be holding at Kohima Orphanage and Zubza on their way before culminating the tour covering a distance of 73.13 kms at 4th Mile Dimapur. He said the Club was formed in March 2013 with mainly teenage students of Sainik School.
“We want to spread the message of being eco-friendly by using bicycle and also keep oneself healthy,” he said. Meanwhile, the Club has sought cooperation from the road users along the Kohima-Dimapur road during the expected four hours of their ride.
