Fourteen-year-old Tilottama Sen from Nagaland, the youngest shooter in the Indian squad.

Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): Fourteen-year-old Tilottama Sen from Nagaland is the youngest shooter in the Indian squad, which will be representing the country at the 15th Asian Airgun Championship to be held from November 8 to the 19th in Daegu, South Korea.

The Nagaland Rifle Association (NRA) in an update informed that Tilottama came out as someone matured beyond her age, both on and off the shooting range, at the recently concluded 36th National Games, Gujarat 2022.

“Sen caught the imagination of the fans with a brilliant score of 633.6 in the women’s 10m air rifle qualification round which became the national record, and finished second best to Olympian Elavenil Valarivan in the final round,” NRA stated.

She also bagged gold medal in 10m air rifle women junior team at the ISSF World Championships Cairo, Egypt 2022, defeating China and Finland.

“She was the best shooter scoring 633.4 in the qualification round equaling the junior world record and achieved bronze medal in 10M air rifle women junior individual,” it stated.

NRA stated that the young shooter who passed out from Pranab Vidyapith, West Yard Colony, Dimapur, is currently studying at BlueBell Public School, Bengaluru.

She is the granddaughter of late Sunil Kumar Sen, who was a prominent businessman in Dimapur, it added.
