The School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University organized its 6th Techaura festival under the theme, ‘voyage to vision’ with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome as the chief guest.
The 4 days long Techaura festival which was first introduced in the year 2010 is also the only technical festival of Nagaland.
Citing ‘universality of science is to broaden ones minds’, Kesonyu noted that scientific growth implies to looking things in a broader way rather than confining oneself within the society.He said if a society clams to be advanced, it is equally important that our mind should be matured wile rising above social discretion.

He said Nagas have a layback approach in ones profession while expressing that our society ‘virtue of professionalism’.
He said with so many scientific changes taking places around the world, Nagas are still confined within the society fighting against each other.
Speaking amongst the technical students, the DC encouraged the students to rise above such alliances while bringing positive changes instead of fighting as tribes and groups.
He said to rise above social distraction and to witness strong positive changes; one should raise above all social institutions while appealing the students to broaden their minds.
The guest of honor for the inaugural programme of Techaura ’15 was the Principal of Immanuel College, L. Sharat Singh. The day one of the festival highlighted various programmes while a special presentation ‘vibrant NorthEast’ with students performing various cultural programmes of all the NE states.
The four days technical festival is being held at SET and SMS Campus, DC Court Junction.
