KOHIMA — Team Orca won the fifth edition of the Women’s Basketball Tournament organised by the Vision Trinity Club, defeating Touchline Basketball Academy (TBA) from Shillong by a score of 46-35 in the final match held at Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama, Kohima.
A total of seven teams participated in the three-day tournament held at Jakhama, and the winning team received INR 30,000, while TBA walked away with INR 15,000.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The TBA was named the best discipline team, while Shimti Mawl of TBA was named the most valuable player.
Sangjem Jamir of team Orca had the most points scored, Viketule Thami Loyola was named the most promising player, and TMB was awarded the best jersey.
Also, the Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) and the Vision Trinity (VT) team competed in an exhibition match, which KDBA won 16–15.
Ketobu Vitsu, vice president of the Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), attended the closing ceremony and presented the prizes.
