Kohima, March 21 (EMN): Team Orca, a Kohima-based basketball team have mended the basketball court at Khuociezhie in the state capital on Sunday.

Realising that it was the responsibility of all, particularly the players, to maintain playgrounds, the team refurbished the court by filling up the cracks with necessary materials and also attached new nets to the two rings.

It was learnt that the expenses of the materials used in repairing the court had been borne by the team itself.

Team Orca were the runner-up of Suncity's open basketball tournament during 2019 and also won the same position during men's open basketball trophy at Oriental College Kohima in 2020.

They were also the runner-up of TBC tournament conducted at Sechü-Zubza and semi-finalists at the 1st Stallions Cup open basketball tournament, which were conducted in Kohima this year.

The team is looking forward to compete in the 1st Men's 3×3 open basketball tournament being organised by Taurus, slotted to take place at Northfield in Kohima on March 29.
