Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): Nodal office Y Kikheto Sema has welcomed the decision of the High Powered Committee (HPC) to extend the state-wide lockdown for another week as he reasoned that human lives are more important over economic activities.

Kikheto stated this while visiting various NGOs/ civil society organisations to acknowledge them for the help rendered in the fight against the Covid pandemic on Thursday. He was accompanied by the deputy commissioner of Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan, and the commissioner of police Rothihu Tetseo.

Pointing out that Dimapur district currently has enough beds and oxygen cylinders and with huge reduction of positive cases, Sema remarked, “We are on the winning side and corona is on the losing side.” He also encouraged the Dimapur warriors to be prepared to even go to other districts and help them if their service was required.

At Hope Charitable Foundation, Lingrijan, Team Dimapur met the director and thanked them for reaching out to the poor and needy besides providing 24×7 toll free facility and counselling services.

Team Dimapur also met the president and members of Rotary Club and lauded them for their continued support and cooperation not only during the 1st and 2nd Covid waves but during any extraordinary times.

The team also met the president and members of Bengali Bongs and thanked them for the humanitarian services by providing more than 100 packed food to the poor people and also for coming forward to donate blood whenever the need arises.

Team Dimapur also visited Sikh Gurudwara and met the president, Harbev Singh, and members. Describing them as brave warriors, Kikheto Sema mentioned that Sikh community were the first amongst the NGOs this year to render philanthropic services in the fight against Covid 19 pandemic.
