Dimapur, Jan. 23 : The Nagaland SSA Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) has demanded that the state’s government release pending salaries from November 2016 till date. The teachers issued a note on Monday asking the government to “strictly adhere and implement the terms of agreement.”
The government is asked to release the salaries with arrears by the first week of February or face a “show of resentment” from the teachers.
The NSSATA referred to a “written assurance” dated November 2 2016, issued by the commissioner and secretary to the government of Nagaland.
“…the NSSATA would like to remind the state government to strictly adhere and implement the terms of agreement by following all necessary steps and measures for timely release of instalments and payment of pending salaries from November 2016 till date along with the arrears by 1st week of February 2017,” the teachers stated. “Failing to fulfil the written assurance, the NSSATA will be compelled to show its resentment without any further notice for which the government shall be held accountable,” it added.
