Teacher from Nagaland wins best NCC officer award

DIMAPUR — Capt. Regina Razousinuo, ANO of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, was adjudged the best associate NCC officer in female category in entire Northeast region for the year 2022-23, while Lt. Rokovinuo, ANO of Don Bosco College, Kohima, affiliated to 1 Nagaland Girls’ Battalion NCC, Kohima, was awarded the best associate NCC officer in female category for the state of Nagaland.

The award was conferred during the Northeast NCC Summit was held on September 20 held at NCC Directorate NE Region, Shillong, Meghalaya. A defence release stated that NCC officers (ANO) representing the North eastern states under NER NCC directorate were felicitated by Phagu Chauhan, Governor of Meghalaya, during the summit.

It stated that a total of 16 teachers were awarded for their sincerity, professionalism and exemplary service in NCC for the year 2022-23.

Lt. Gen. Sanjay Mallik, GOC of 101 Area, Shillong, Maj Gen Gagan Deep, ADG, NCC Dte NER; group commanders of all NCC groups of NCC directorate were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the release stated that 25 NCC junior wing cadets of St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Lerie, affiliated to 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, Kohima, under the aegis of NCC Group, Kohima, would be forming part of the NCC brass band representing the NCC North Eastern Region (NER) Directorate in the prestigious Republic Day Camp 2024.

It stated that 25 NCC cadets, aged 13 to 15 years, would be marching on the Kartavya Path as part of the marching band for the Republic Day Parade 2024 for the first time in the history of the state of Nagaland.

It stated that preparations are underway in full swing with respect to their new uniform and training at institutional level. The band would also be attending training camp at Assam Rifles, Kohima, with effect from October 1 to the 10th followed by the pre-RDC camp scheduled to be conducted in the month of December 2023.

Report further stated that the cadets would set out for the Republic Day camp at DG NCC, New Delhi, on December 25.
