Teacher exhibits extraordinary dedication to profession

Dimapur, June 10 (EMN): During a time where every conversation is dominated by the Covid-19 pandemic, a teacher has exhibited extraordinary dedication, sincerity, love and concern towards her students by motivating them to achieve success.

Avino Peseyie, a graduate teacher of Chümuokedima Government Higher Secondary School, had devised a plan to challenge and encourage her students of Class 10 to excel in their studies, which eventually bore fruit.

To encourage her students, she challenged them to aim for excellence with the promise of a cash award of INR 5,000 each to all who secure distinction in her subject in their matriculation exam, a DIPR report stated on Wednesday.

Today, she has delightfully disbursed INR 5000 each to 16 students who secured distinction marks in Social Science. Besides, she also disbursed INR 5000 each to two other students under her mentorship thereby incurring an amount of INR 90,000 from her own salary. The report stated that 16 secured distinctions in a class of 30 students.

It mentioned that at Chümoukedima GHSS, under the leadership of its principal Karen Sema, an innovative academic system aimed at providing personal attention to all students for achieving academic excellence was evolved. According to the system, each teacher was mandatorily required to personally mentor five students throughout the academic year.

It stated that Chümoukedima GHSS has earned the distinction of being the best performing government school in Dimapur district in the recently concluded HSSLC examination (arts stream). It has outperformed and surpassed many popular private schools in Dimapur too with modest resources and infrastructure. The success story conveyed a testimony of hope that with sheer determination and sincerity, even government schools could compete and deliver quality education at par with other top performing schools in the state.

The report stated that parents have saluted Avino Peseyie and her colleagues at Chümoukedima GHSS for their sacrificial love expressed in their resolute devotion to duty, transforming the school into a fine example for many educational institutions to emulate.
