DIMAPUR — The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) conducted an outreach event as part of its “Uplifting Women Street Vendors Programme (UWSVP)” at Rüzaphema village, Chümoukedima, on Thursday at the village council hall.

According to a press release, 100 people attended the event, which was moderated by Kewetshu-u Ritse, the community associate for tEA’s Dimapur branch.

The event began with an invocation by Neichüvono Savino, the president of Rüzaphema Women. Lenu Neikha, tEA project associate, gave a brief introduction to tEA’s mission and values, as well as the history of UWSVP, followed by Azonuo Chietsü, tEA community associate, who briefed the gathering on the various services provided and facilitated by tEA.

There was also a brief session on the introduction of farmer-producer organisations (FPO), a crucial aspect of tEA in building resilient farming communities across the region. tEA has also been working with farmers in the village since the pandemic, providing zero-interest loans and facilitating support for piggery, the release said.

The Uplifting Women Street Vendors Programme is a flagship initiative of the Entrepreneurs Associates, launched in October 2017, aimed at empowering women engaged in marketing farm produce networks.
