DIMAPUR — The Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) has decided to merge with the NSCN (IM), citing their ‘good faith’ in the NSCN/GPRN and its leadership.
In a press release on Sunday, the NSCN (IM) ministry of information and publicity stated that the ENNG approached the NSCN, expressing its desire to strengthen the Indo-Naga political talks based on the Framework Agreement of 2015.
“With this merger they believe it will motivate the people of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) in Arunachal and allow them to get more involved and active towards the Naga national movement. They are particularly concern for the political situation in the Pangmi region in TCL which they want to strengthen with the merger with NSCN. They express their desire to handle Pangmi region issue with a sense of urgency as any negligence would amount to highest failure for the Naga nation,” the press release stated.
According to the NSCN (IM), the ENNG leaders showed deep concern on the issue of Naga integration as the present Nagas are divided by artificial boundaries. They pointed out that integration of all Naga areas and the Nagas must be given top priority, it claimed.
What further motivated the ENNG to join hands with NSCN is the “non-negotiable Naga flag and Yehzabo,” it added.
