Mokokchung, May 26 (EMN): ‘Tasen Lai Okila’- an introduction to New Testament written by three friends with Theological background was released at Sungkomen Baptist Church (SBC) Conference Hall, Mokokchung on Thursday.

The book was officially released by Dr. Maonungsang Tzudir, Edu & Literature Secretary, ABAM with a dedicatory prayer pronounced by Rev. O Yashi Jamir, Pastor SBC.

The three authors are Dr. Menjiwapong Jamir Associate Professor, Allahabad Bible Seminary, Matsung Longkumer, Assistant Pastor SBC and Tiaakum Ozukum Pastor, Christian Fellowship, Jalandhar.

According to the authors, the book is a first of its kind with a proper introduction to the Bible written in the Ao language. They added that the book is written in such a way that it is layman oriented, theologically sound and academically acceptable.

One of the authors asserted that “most of the theological teaching they learned cannot be preached in the churches in fear of being outcast, therefore, they believed that this book would serve as a bridge to understand the Bible better.”

Another author also opined that the book emphasises to start going deeper into the Bible not only to make one spiritually strong but also to allow readers to know the truth written in the Bible.

Earlier, in the programme, Dr. Maonungsang Tzudir described the book as an academically sound and people-friendly book which is unique and important for the people to build a stronger bond with the Almighty.

He also said the book described the Bible messages written to various target groups according to the prevailing situation in their era. He, therefore, said to read the book comparing with the present context for better understanding.

The book is published by TDCC Publication, Mokokchung and will be available through or contact 8505855211.
