Dimapur, May 23 (EMN): Founder of Youth Net and Nari Shakti presidential awardee Hekani Jakhalu said youths are inherently talented but lack consistency, which needs to be overcome as meritocracy is the only way ahead in the future. He told the youth to be determined and work hard to reach dreams and vision.
She was speaking at the 32nd anniversary of Padumpukhuri Village Council on May 20.
Jakhalu stated that the youth needs to be prepared to face the tough competitive world ahead. Highlighting 2011 census, she said that people between 15-35 age group comprised approximately 8 lakh population, which is a huge number in the decision making process to impact the future.
She stressed that human resource development was the most critical factor for growth of Nagaland, stating that even if there is state of the art infrastructure but lacks talented people to take it ahead, it has no future, an update stated.
Committing to work towards the youth of Padampukhuri and East Dimapur in general, she announced INR 10 lakh towards construction of “Youth Resource Centre’ in the Padumpukhuri Village Council office area.
The centre would give support to the youth of Padumpukhuri-East Dimapur areas as the information centre and finding the way ahead, helping the youth in need of opportunities. She also announced that the “Made in Nagaland” centre which is already operational in Kohima has been now proposed in the Purana Bazaar area and a survey is in process. She further stated that road connectivity is critical for any venture to be successful and proposed the council to identify critical connecting roads, and attempts would be made to improve it.
