Kohima, August 2 (EMN): Young Badminton Talent search cum coaching camp for U- 15 boys and girls got underway today at Pfutsero Town under the aegis of Phek District Badminton Association (PDBA) as part of its catch them young initiative.
Currently 16 players have registered for the coaching. On its launching programme, Vechikhoyi Lohe, Principal GHSS Pfutsero and president Pfutsero Badminton Association exhorted the young badminton aspirants to take the game seriously to become professional players. He also challenged the players that Nagas can also become international players in badminton.
He urged the young players to be grateful to almighty God for good health. The players were encouraged to use their time wisely as sports person so that it will not affect thier studies.
Kewetso Mero has volunteered to coach the young badminton enthusiasts without any fee.
Kelhikha Kenye, president PDBA briefing the players about the coaching camp thanked the coach for his service to the Association.
The coaching camp will continue till August 14.
Meanwhile, the PDBA will conduct a talent search sub- division wise for Phek district by this year.
The present coaching initiatives of PDBA is being supported by the DPDB Phek.
