Tailoring training centre inaugurated in Kohima

In what could equip the youths with requisite skills for employment, Incessant Welfare Society Nagaland (ICWSN) Training Centre was inaugurated in Kohima near Superintendent of Police Kohima by Director of Urban Development, Takatuba Aier on Monday.

Speaking at the programme, Aier urged the training centre to strive hard and include more threads in the centre besides cutting and tailoring so as to skill the youths of the state to be employable. He exuded confidence that the training centre will be a progressive one in skilling the youth with limited training centres in Kohima, unlike in Dimapur.

The official further urged the management of the training centre to incorporate more departments to impart various skills to the youths.
Meanwhile, the administrator of ICWSN, Dimapur, Asenla, highlighted various courses that the training centre has been offering to the youth over in the past. She informed that the ICSWN Kohima will first offer training for cutting and tailoring before introducing more courses.

The administrator of ICSWN, Kohima Akumla Longchari, said in her opening remarks that the youth of today lack skills to be employable despite high rate of unemployment in the state. She added that the idea of opening the training centre was make youths employable by imparting skills.
