T20 WCC: Tapitu’s century scripts win for GAPYOCC

Wokha, Jan. 11 (EMN): GAPYOCC and Tritons CC registered win on the second day of the ongoing 24th T20 WCC at Wokha on Saturday.

In the first match of the day, Forest Sporting Club won the toss and opted to field first. However, GAPYOCC put up a big total of 179 runs in 20 overs. Tapitu was unstoppable, scoring 103 runs (not out) of 56 deliveries with five sixes and 12 fours. He was later declared Man of the match. Other main contributors for the team included Lijanbemo (31 runs) and Nchumbemo (21 runs).

Chasing a stiff target, Forest Sporting Club were sent packing in just 13.4 overs.

GAPYOCC won the match by 110 runs.

In the second match of the day, Tritons CC defeated Hercules CC by 47 runs.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Tritons CC scored 161 runs for loss of five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Meysanen scored 42 runs, Akumtong 37, Aloto 22, Yongzamong 18 and Longsansunep 14 to help the team register a win.

Meysanen was declared Man of the match.

Daniel (28 runs), Talikaba (14 runs) and Maset (12 runs) were the main contributors for Hercules CC. Leading Tritons CC’s attack were Merenkaba and Longsasunep, who took two wickets apiece. Mynuil and Aloto too claimed a wicket each.
